Low noise signal conditioning, filtering, and signal thresholding implement smart sensor detection of only “active pixels.” This detector circuit can also be used to perform signal conditioning for other sensor applications that require detection of very small signals in a high background noise environment. The output is therefore expected to have a noise component which is relatively flat up to 20 kHz, a lobe of aliased noise below 1 kHz, and possibly higher frequency lobes if they are above the white noise floor.
